Pool Builder in Taylorsville, NC

Taylorsville is the seat of Alexander County, founded in 1847, and sits at roughly 1,175 feet where NC 16 and NC 90 meet at the foot of the Brushy Mountains. The Brushies are a deeply eroded spur of the Blue Ridge that rise three to eight hundred feet above the surrounding country and run on through Wilkes, Iredell and Yadkin. This is the highest ground we regularly build on, and the elevation is not a footnote — it changes how the concrete behaves and how long the swimming season runs.

Up against the Brushies the winters bring real freeze-thaw cycling. For a fiberglass shell that matters relatively little; for the concrete pool deck wrapped around it, it matters a great deal. Every Taylorsville pour gets the joint spacing and reinforcement it needs to move with the seasons instead of cracking apart, and the surface is sloped so meltwater leaves rather than collecting at the coping.

Alexander County ground runs to clay over rock, and the closer you get to the Brushy Mountains — Hickory Knob, the county high point, is up in that range — the shallower the rock sits. Excavation here can take noticeably longer than the identical job down in the Catawba valley. We would far rather flag that on the site visit and price it honestly than turn up on dig day with a change order.

What We Build Most in Taylorsville

The common Taylorsville job is a full-size fiberglass pool with a well-detailed concrete deck on an open lot outside town. The second is a wooded-lot build where selective clearing and the crane path shape the layout as much as the view does.

Getting a Pool Into a Taylorsville Back Yard

Taylorsville parcels are often larger than their Catawba equivalents and much more likely to be wooded, so crane access rather than yard size is the thing to check. A fiberglass shell needs a clear lift path, and mature hardwood canopy is the usual obstacle. Where the reach is tight we look at a smaller model or a different staging position before we will commit to a date. Selective clearing is often the answer rather than taking a whole treeline out — the canopy is usually the reason the yard is worth sitting in, and losing all of it to gain a lift path is a poor trade.
